As a Penn Stater and a long-time JoePa fan, I believe the Patriot-News has it right.
Even if I try to think only of the football program (which is a despicable way to view this situation), the best move is to rip off the band-aid and move on. If the school excuses Joe because he fulfilled his legal obligation, the backlash and stigma of this situation will linger with the school and the football program long after Joe is gone.
